Any idea why there has been such a huge drop in the numbers John? 60 this year down from near 240 in 2012. Could having on the same day as the mallow 10 be the min reason?

I'd say easter being so early this year meant a lot of folks were away with the kids.

The popularity of running, triathlon etc, always waxes and wanes. Something becomes popular, it booms, it loses popularity until the next cycle. Cycling, which is my thing, does that too.

The 4 main reasons for the drop are probably
1) Lack of publicity
2) €15 entry fee
3) New parkruns in the West Cork area.
4) 10k not suitable for beginners (Couch to 5k).
