Sarah Lavin of Emerald AC / UCD AC finished 3rd in the womens 60m hurdles at the British Athletics Indoor championships in Sheffield on Sunday, February 9th.
Sarah's time of 8.25 seconds was also a personal best and it now moves her from 3rd to 2nd in the Irish all time standings. The chart below shows the relative times of the top 10 fastest. As you can see, there is a small incremental step between each of the times but Derval O'Rourke's time of 7.84 seconds is in a completely different league altogether. This was set in Moscow in 2006 when she won the World Indoor Championship title aged 24.
It's worth noting that Sarah Lavin is still only 19 years old and has a bright future in athletics. The fundraising page for her athletics career can be seen at http://www.ntrai.com/index.cfm/crowd-funding-projects/sarah-lavin/
