Results & Photos of the Run in the Dark in Cork...

The results can be seen HERE

Obviously, some of the positions are wrong as it's obvious some may not have completed the full two laps for the 5k course and four laps for the 10k. Otherwise, for anyone who completed their respective distances then the time is accurate.

Results are up but are a complete waste of time they had no system in place to deal with people only doing some of the laps they were supposed to so the placings are all over the place

Great event last night. Great to see so many people out on the streets of Cork for a good cause.

Marshals were v good pointing out obstacles and even putting flashing armbands on poles/bollards.

There was no signage at the start for expected finish time that made the start a bit interesting! It was advertised that there would be.

Perfect night for running, flat course and cool with no rain. Got a PB even thou couldn't take the racing line as there was so much traffic from lap 2 onwards. Maylor and Paul street were tricky if going full belt due to walkers etc.

Results were quick. Got a txt about an hour after the race with my gun and chip time. With full results out next morning.

All in all, thoroughly enjoyed it and it was for a great cause.

Results are great for your time, but placings are all over the place due to runners not doing enough laps.

Yeah was wondering about the results for sure! Still a fun night, definitely felt the increase in numbers over last year as I had to come to a complete stop 3 or 4 times & the start was mostly walking 'til we hit Grand Parade. Looks like the numbers are doubling each year so next Nov should be insane :)

Was my first time doing a run and found this to be pretty good. timed myself via stopwatch and it was the exact same as the result I was given after. one annoying thing- people doing the 10k stopped running and started walking on narrow streets like Maylor st..good night though well orgaqnised

The run was a fun run and was good craic - great to be able to bomb arouond the city streets like that. However, it got fierce crowded from about halfway through the second lap on.

The results thing is annoying. They went to all the trouble of putting in timing mats and then didn't position them to count the number of laps each runner did. If you're not going to do the results correctly then don't bother with mats at all - people won't mind when they know in advance.

A great ecent that's good fun but is suffering now from its own popularity

enjoyed the event, first time doing it. more of a social occasion than a run, but fun all the same. Unfortunately my result is nowhere to be found on the results page, must have gotten a faulty chip!

To make it really interesting the 5k should go clockwise, the 10k anti-clockwise then there'd be no problems with people finishing early. Sorted

Poorly organised start and finish areas. 5 and 10 k starts should have been staggered as in previous year. Not sure why start was moved from Grand Parade to the narrow Oliver plunkett st. despite the increased numbers.Distance was also out of sync with GPS watch.Great to see such numbers taking part for a worthy cause but at e 27 it has to better.

The course was accurately measured by a Jones Counter. GPS watches are very poor in narrow city streets with tall buildings either side.

This is Glenn from ChampionChip Ireland. We did the timing at Cork and also Belfast. Belfast was perfect from our viewpoint as we were able to put mats on the lap to count and detect how many laps everyone did and thus amend the results accordingly. The plan at Cork was to do the same with the start originally at Princes Street and O Plunkett Street. On the night I was asked to move the start mats to Marlborough Street which thus meant we missed the lap as you came down Princes Street. Had I known I could have brought enough gear to do both. There was not enough time to move the start mats as it took 5 mins for the starters to clear the mats and the leaders would have been close to the end of their first lap. We are working hard to refine the results as runners contact us to say they changed races on the night. I am 100% confident the times are accurate.

Have had the chance to wade through the times and with feedback from some participants to confirm which distance they actually ran I think the placings are accurate now.

Have sent the file to the organisers for them to upload when possible.

Cant say I agree with placings now being accurate but nothing can be done to get them 100%

There is no result for my run. I run the whole time with my friend except the finish where I went for sprint finishing just few seconds ahead of her and her result is in and I have 0. I sent email to organisers and no answer.
