This might be of interest to anyone aged 12 to 17 years old. A new Fit4Youth programme is being organised by Athletics Ireland, UCC and Cork Sports Partnership with the aim of getting more young people involved in athletics.
As you can see from the info below, it only lasts for 6 weeks so it's not a huge commitment in terms of time. It would give youngsters a taste of what athletics is like and if they would like to continue.
Registration is next Monday evening at the track at the Mardyke in Cork City.
From the organisers...Get Fit, Have Fun, Feel Good in an non competitive environment and have your chance to run with Sonia O Sullivan.
This is a joint programme between Cork Sports Partnership, Athletics Ireland and UCC and is aimed at teenagers (boys & girls) between 12 - 17 yrs. It is a 6 week programme and will take place for an hour each Monday between 7 & 8pm.
Registration will take place on Monday 16th from 6.45pm @ The Track In UCC, and we will be joined by Olympic Silver Medalist Sonia O Sullivan for the first night. So just turn up in runners and comfortable clothes. For more information, please contact the Cork Sports Partnership on 021 4665081.
