Lovely fast, flat course, well marshaled and the Western road part run inside safety barriers. The event really lacked atmosphere though, with only 80 runners and pretty much no spectators.Bit of a surprise at the end to be directed onto the GAA pitch to run on grass for 300m. A clock at the finish would have been nice.
Mini games in general seemed to lack attendance. I went to the attempt to break the world record for largest circuit training class. They needed 1335 people. Only 20 showed up, including instructors. I think the promotion of the games is to blame. Nobody i spoke to knew they were happening. These events need a huge push and that just wasn't there. Hopefully they have learnt their lesson and will promote it properly next year as i think events like this are gaining popularity and this could be a huge success.
