The first race in Cork City's newest park got off to a great start with almost 300 runners taking part. While the Tramore Valley Park still has that 'raw' look about it, a few more months of work and some spring growth should see a big improvement. It will most likely be open to the public sometime in 2012 and I would presume that road races there will be a regular feature in future years. As a course, it certainly isn't as flat or fast as say the Marina circuit but there are no huge drags either.
The winner of the mens race was Chris Harrington of Leevale AC in a time of 15:43. The womens race was won by Annette Quaid of Leevale AC in a time of 17:58

I really enjoyed this race and am delighted at how fast the results have been posted.
Brilliant race, nice undulating course. Great potential training place. Just floodlight it and roof it and we'll have a great place to train during the winter. Well at least some lights would be nice, give us some place to train on these dark winter nights.
It could be a faster course if you took out the sharp bend. You need to stop to take it but it was a good run and well done to the winner Chris Harrington ,hes getting faster every week, course record,ha,ha
Great race Saturday. Well done to all involved. Cant wait 'til they open it up to the public. We need more training areas like this in the city.
+1 on floodlights!
Great fast race, well done to all who organised and I hope we raised a significant amount for the hospice. The last link to the last photo gallery doesn't work??
Try the 3rd link again and see how you get on.
I'm not sure if you need a Google account to view it or not.
