This popular 5 km road race is coming up on Friday evening, the 19th of May at 8pm. Note that there is a free running buff for all finishers.

Located near Ballymacoda in East Cork, this one is easy to access from the east via Youghal and from the west via Castlemartyr and Ladysbridge...

The course is in the shape of a triangle and goes in a clockwise direction. It is largely flat or made up of sections with gentle gradients.

There will be showers available to use in the sports field hall changing rooms after the race.

Results of the Kilcredan 5k road race...Fri 20th May 2016

It's amazing what a difference 24 hours can make. The sunshine for the Cheetah Run in Fota Wildlife Park on Thursday was replaced by the damp and dreary conditions on Friday for the annual Kilcredan 5k race. Despite the conditions, a total of 230 runners took part.

Another week and another big race in East Cork. A total of 318 runners turned out for the annual Kilcredan 5k road race, up a fraction on the 312 of 2014.

Update Sat 12:15pm.......Please note that there were some problems with the results. For the moment, any positions or times may be wrong. A full set of results will be posted once they have been checked.

Update Sat 10pm...Precision Timing issued the following...."We would like to apologise to participants for this and in no way should the event organisers be blamed for the delay in results."  

It seems as if they were under pressure with the volume of entries before the race and this resulted in problems later.

Update Mon 2pm...Kilcredan 5K committee would like to thank everyone who came out and supported us tonight. There was a great atmosphere and hope you all enjoyed your night. We would like to apologise for the delay in results being returned. This delay was caused by Precision Timing which we will be following up with. We will be delivering category winners prizes to those who did not receive them before they left. Thanks again to all for your support, we look forward to welcoming you all back again next year.

A large crowd of 350 runners turned out for this 5k race in Kilcredan near Ballymacoda in East Cork.

From the organisers....We had another fabulous Kilcredan 5K tonight with some fabulous runners and now have a new course record in both male and female. Well done to James Mc Carthy our overall winner in a time of 15:09. The atmosphere was fantastic and the weather matched it. We would like to thank so many for making tonight such a success. Our runners and walkers, our stewards and caterers, our sponsors and land owners.we would like to thank FON for the availability of the sportsfield and hall. The K5K committee who have worked tirelessly for months in preparation for tonight, thank you all. We hope everyone enjoyed tonight and we are very grateful for your support. Thank you
