Results of the 5k parkruns around the county on Saturday 8thAugust 2026. Approximately 1436 runners and walkers took part in the 11 events in Co Cork.
Report... At the start of the week, the forecast was for this Saturday to be wet as a weather front moved over Cork. On the day, it turned out to be quite nice with plenty of sunshine. The temperature at Cork Airport was about 18 deg C at the time of the parkruns.
Most parkruns... The person with the most parkruns this week is Kieran Santry who travelled from the UK to do his 535th parkrun.
Bere Island... There were big numbers at the Bere Island this week with 225 finishers. Cat Kennedy from Dublin picked Bere Island to do her 250th parkrun. Ciara O'Keeffe reached the double century mark.

Ballincollig... Jane Power completed her 250th parkrun at the Ballincollig event with Siobhan Holland and Don Fitzgerald reaching the 200 mark.
Glen River... Genevieve Hoare completes her 100th parkrun with 37 at the Glen.
Macroom... Mark Sheehan completed his 100th parkrun with 48 at Mallow and 36 at Macroom.
Glengarriff... Maria Harrington reaches the 100 mark with 91 at this event.
Castlehaven... Catherine Bailey reaches the 200 mark with 177 here.
If I missed anyone who passed a notable milestone like 100, 200, 250 or above parkruns then let me know.
Upcoming milestones....
Macroom is the oldest parkrun in Co Cork and they will be holding their 600th event on the 24th of October 2026.
Bere Island will be 12-years old on the 29th of August.
