Results of the 5k parkruns around the county on Saturday 6th Jan 2024. Approximately 269 runners and walkers took part in the 5 events in Co Cork.
Report... Looking at the weather stats, the temperature at Cork Airport dropped to +3 deg C overnight but that was enough for a hard frost and ice on tarmac surfaces. Ballincollig, Tramore Valley Park and the Glen River events were all cancelled which meant there was no parkrun in Cork City.
In the county, Youghal and Macroom were also cancelled.
Bere Island... Well done to Mary K Sullivan who joined the century club at the Bere Island 5k parkrun today! Mary did all 100 of the parkruns on Bere Island and her very first one was back on the 18th of October 2014.
Castlehaven... It's always worth remembering that there would be no parkruns without the army of volunteers. So a big shout out to Theresa Brand who has now completed 100 volunteer roles on Saturday.
If I missed anyone who passed a notable milestone like 100, 200, 250 or above parkruns then let me know.
