There were five extra 5k parkruns put on in Co Cork for New Years Day 2024. Ballincollig was going to join them but it had to be cancelled due to flooding on the course.
I was going to go to the one in the Glen in Cork City but it just started to rain as I headed out the door. That's the beauty of parkruns, if you miss one then there's another one next Saturday.
Glen River... With Ballincollig cancelled, the Glen River event got a big turnout with 127 taking part. That's well above the average of 127 and the last time the numbers were that high was back on 29th of Feb 2020 when 184 took part.

Bere Island... There were 47 finishers in the Bere Island event. Well done to Jack Barry who completed his 100th 5k parkrun this morning! All 100 of the parkruns were at the Bere Island event and nowhere else. Jack did his first 5k parkrun on the 30th of August 2014.
