Despite the misty damp weather, a record 128 runners turned out for this years John Hartnett 10k road race in Ballyhooly near Fermoy This was a huge 133% jump on last years figure of 55. I suspect that if it was a nice sunny evening, the numbers might have been even bigger.

I'm assuming the pace/mile column is incorrect? A 10k race at 5.54 av per mile gives a time of 36.40 - The winner's time is listed as 35.21!
Really enjoyed this run. It was well organised. Also, nice and low key. Lovely spot. Thanks to the organisers. Will be back next year.
The decision to move the race to a Friday night was a great move, and the increased numbers of runners endorses that. This is such a great race - quiet roads, nice mix of flat, up and down, but relatively flat. And no traffic all along this 10k stretch of country roads.
Superb race.
It will surely grow further in numbers next year.
Well done all in Ballyhooley.
Times are correct, pace per mile is wrong.
The move to Friday evening probably had very little to do with the jump in numbers. There are plenty of other events that have been held on Friday evenings that have got very poor numbers.
