The mens race was won by Sergiu Ciobanu of Clonliffe Harriers AC in a time of 25:06, breaking the old course record of 29:40 by 34 seconds. The first woman was Maria McCarthy of Farranfore-Maine Valley AC in Kerry in 31:39.

As with the last 2 years, superb race organisation, and mediterranean-like weather to boot. Fairly testing run up the main street of the town, followed by the short, sharp climb of Tesco hill but after that first mile, its a flat course. Good buzz at the finish line too. And that food....had to be seen to be believed. Thanks to all who helped to make it a great night for us runners.
Really enjoyed this race, very well organised from what I think is a relatively new running club, very passionate about their sport. Colin
