Many moons ago, there used to be a road race here in Ballyclough to the NW of Mallow in north Cork. This year, it has been re-introduced with a 5k race as part of the Ballyhoura series. It got 77 entries in what was a busy weekend of road races locally.
The mens race was won by Peter Fennell of Togher AC in a time of 16:39...
...while Sarah Gayer wons the ladies race in 21:14. Organised by Mallow AC

I'm afraid Ballyhoura can't claim the Ballyclough race. Unfortunatly its outside our area. Our next race isn't far from it - the Dromcollogher 4 mile which is just north of the Cork border. The course has seen a couple of sub-19 min times in its long history so its flat and fast. There is ususally a very good atmosphere around it with the Festival going on in town at the same time.
