It looks as if this 5k near Barrycourt Castle in Carrigtwohill was a great success with 348 taking part....a huge number for a new race. Judging by the times, it looks like a fairly fast course.

Very nice course, though I wouldn't say it's fast. Too much up and down for that.
But...a well put together race with lots of people. I would do it again.

I thought this race was excellent. A huge amount of organisation was in evidence throughout the night- parking, road signs, marquees set up, all contributed to a very enjoyable evening. The castle was a fantastic setting for the race headquarters. The course was reasonably fast, i thought, with a sharp pull that we had to negotiate twice! Well done to all involved.
Nice hill at around the 1 and 2 mile markers! Very well organised, good signposting to get to the race, and during the race, fast registration, beautiful race headquarters. They had a map of the course which was very helpful.
Would recommend to anyone. Hopefully will be on again next year.
Just want to congratulate all the organisers for last nights race. Long story short, but due to a knee problem I can only do a short race about once every six months, so this was my first race since Shanagarry back in December.
I choose it inparticular because it was a 5K. I think the cork running scene would benefit from a lot more 5K runs. Opens things up much more to first time runners.
Good scenery, good route, good stewards, good organisation.
Great Race!
good course. a bit narrow at the starting line but ok when things settle down.looking forward to next year.
As a first time runner, I really enjoyed the event - very well organised, great setting in a castle and a friendly atmosphere. Will definitely run again.

I only started running this year and I must say it was one of the best organised and also that hill was a bit of a killer the second time round but overall very enjoyable.
Keep up the good work John with the blog, its very interesting.
