Cork Marathon 2007 - The first Marathon for 20 years will take place in Cork on Monday, the 4th of June 2007. The approximate route is shown above with the start and the finish on the South Mall in the City centre. The entry fee will be €50. They expect to have entry forms out in December and they will be taking entries from January onwards. They are expecting somewhere in the region of 5,000 entries. There is also a provision for relay teams to enter, i.e. a small group of between 2 and 4 runners can run sections of the marathon. They will announce more details later.
The start time for the race is 9:00 AM. A big factor in this event is going to be the weather. If the day turns out to be hot and sunny, it is going to be very difficult. So, fingers crossed for a nice soft and damp day ;o)
