15% Discount...... John Buckley Sports gave out 15% discount to all finishers in the race. Use your race number and present it in the shop to avail of the 15% discount. It will apply to any purchases in their shop which is across from the Opera House in the heart of Cork City. Needless to say, the amount you save with the discount may well exceed the race entry so they are well worth getting. Note that the discount is not restricted to just one item. When you are using it, you can buy several products at the one time and get 15% off the lot.

The expiry date on the race number discount is the 31st of December 2026 so you have plenty of time to use it.

John Buckley Sports shop is across the river from the Opera House.

Addendum... It looks as if there was some issue with the course being too long this year. I checked the Strava account of someone who did the race this year and last year.

It does look as if the BHAA put the start line about 300m too far down the Marina. They admitted there was an issue on Facebook.

Reminder...Cork BHAA John Buckley Sports 5k coming up on Tues 31st May 2016

Just a reminder for the Cork BHAA John Buckley Sports 5k in Cork City on Tues 31st May 2016. This is one of the fastest 5k courses in Cork and always attracts a huge crowd. The entry fee will also get you 20% off all products in John Buckley Sports.

More info incl maps, photos & updated preview in this previous post.

Just one point of interest. There is a slight change on the course this year in that the finish line will be near the start line. i.e. You do two loops and then finish just beyond where the race started.

The course was recently remeasured so it's spot on. One point though. It was measured on the road! If you run on the footpath then you're taking a short cut and cheating.
