Results of the Cork BHAA Apple Employees Sports & Social 5k - Tues 16th June 2026

The third edition of the Cork BHAA Apple Employees Sports & Social 5k was held in Hollyhill in Cork City on Tues 16th of June 2026. There were 328 finishers this year which is down about 25% on the numbers for 2025.

The women's race was especially close with just one-second separating the first two.

The annual Cork BHAA Simon Turkey Trot 5k was held on a cold but dry morning with 263 taking part. €4000 was raised for the Cork Simon Community.

New surface for part of the Macroom parkrun

Macroom Golf Club recently released an image showing the approach road to the clubhouse which has just been resurfaced.

This is part of the Macroom 5k parkrun course so it's a welcome improvement.

Results & Photos of the Rebel Run 5k & 10k - Sun 19th Oct 2025

Start of the 5k

The overnight rain cleared in time for this years Rebel Run 5k & 10k which was held at MTU in Bishopstown in Cork City on Sunday 19th Oct 2025.

In total, there were over 900 finishers across the two races with about double the number of runners in the 10k compared to the 5k.

While the numbers for the 5k were about the same as recent years, the real growth was in the 10k event which hit a new record this year with over 600 finishers.

Blue skies and sunshine was the order of the day for this years Bere Island Midsummer Run with the 5k and 10k races being held on Saturday 12th July 2025.

In the 10k event, there were 30 finishers.

The 5k race was more popular with 51 finishers.

The overall numbers in 2025 were down a bit one previous years with the peak for this event back in 2018.

Results of the Run the Line 5k in Carrigaline - Sat 28th Dec 2024

The last of the free timed 5k runs on the Carrigaline to Crosshaven Greenway for 2024 was held on Sat 28th Dec.

Notice: Rebel Run 10k & 5k in Cork City - Sun 20th Oct 2024

The ever popular Rebel Run 5k & 10k is coming up this year on Sunday 20th October 2024.

This is the 12th edition of this event and it takes place as per usual at the Munster Technological University (MTU) in Bishopstown.

The 5k starts at 9.30am with the 10k starting at 9.45am. The start line for both events is the tiered carpark at the rear of the MTU Athletics Track Stand. 

 All registered participants receive a goody bag containing a special edition Cork Rebel Run T-Shirt and an EDGE Sports water bottle.

Update: 24th Oct - Both the 5k & 10k events are now sold out.
