Chris Harrington Memorial 5k race raises €2000 for Pieta House

The Chris Harrington Memorial 5k race was held in Cork City on Sun 24th of Aug 2025. Results & photos HERE

A cheque for €2000 was recently donated to the Pieta House charity from the proceeds of the race. 

Pictured above are members of Leevale Athletic club, Tennats Building Products who were the main sponsor as well as Claire and Calum Harrington.

This 5k in Bishopstown was held in memory of the late Chris Harrington who was a member of Leevale AC. There were 237 finishers and the proceeds went to Pieta House.

Notice: Chris Harrington Memorial 5k - Sun 24th Aug 2025

The Chris Harrington Memorial 5k is coming up at MTU in Bishopstown on Sunday 24th of August 2025 at 10am. Proceeds from the race are going to Pieta House charity.

Red FM Podcast with Colm Moore and Chris Harrington

Red FM’s Colm Moore & trainer Chris Harrington will host a weekly podcast until Cork City Marathon on June 6th. This is very much geared towards beginners that are interested in doing the relay event or even beginners just starting off.

Both Colm and Chris are members of Leevale AC and are experienced runners themselves. They are hosting a free training run every Saturday morning till June. This Saturday April 16th, they are meeting 10am at the car park beside The Kingsley Hotel at Victoria Cross for an easy 5K around the Mardyke & Lee Fields. This would be a good way for any beginners to have a chat with two experienced club runners and pick up some advice and tips.
