Results of the Cork BHAA Sterling 5k road race - Wed 3rd July 2024

The Cork BHAA Sterling 5k road race in Ringaskiddy was held on Wed 3rd July 2024 on what was a windy but dry evening. There were 394 finishers which sees the race recover to the level it was around 2016/2017.

Kate Veale wins Irish National 5000m outdoor title for the 9th time...


The Irish National Athletics Championships were held at the Morton Stadium in Dublin last weekend. In the Women's 5000m race walk, Kate Veale of West Waterford AC secured Gold for the 9th time in this particular event.

There were 13 participants in this race which was held on Sat 29th June 2024 on what were very wet conditions as can be seen above.

IMRA are holding a 6.4km trail race in Warrenscourt Woods near Kilmury & Lissarda on Wednesday 3rd July 2024. This is an ideal race for anyone that wants to try a trail race for the first time.

ROUTE DESCRIPTION: The race is 6.4km over a mixture of river walk, fire road, forest trail and grassy paths. 
GETTING THERE: From Cork: After passing O'Learys garage in Lissarda on the N22 take the 2nd left. Follow this quiet road for about 1km until you come to a crossroads. Turn left at the junction here and the forestry entrance is just there on the right hand side. From Macroom: Drive towards Lissarda on the N22, take the first right after crossing the bridge and rounding the bend by Lissardagh Manor.
ORGANISERS INSTRUCTIONS: Please car pool where possible as parking us limited.
