The next big race in Cork is of course the John Buckley Sports Cork City 10 Miler next Sunday the 13th of September. This race is organised by St.Finbarr's AC and should get a good crowd.
The race HQ is at the Lee Rowing Club next to Pairc Ui Chaoimh. The race starts on the Marina...takes in a loop around the Centre Park Rd / Monahan Road...back down the Marina and down by Blackrock Castle.
From there, it's onto the walkway by the river and back up the old railway line. Note there is a new finish line this year in that you go around by the Atlantic Pond and finish near Pairc Ui Chaoimh.

*****
As for the weather forecast, it looks like a mixed bag for the weekend. Rain on Friday, dry on Saturday and rain on Sunday. The question is what time will the rain arrive on Sunday? The afternoon looks worse than the morning although with the pressure being so low, the rain is never that far away.
The only thing that is likely is a south-easterly breeze...
It's unlikely to be a major factor early on but after the runners reach the walkway around the 6 mile mark after Blackrock Castle, it could be. That area is wide open and once you turn the corner around 6.3 miles, there is no shelter.
On the flip side, once the runners reach the water station around 7.5 miles then the wind should be behind them. The last two miles will be in the railway cutting and with the overhead trees and steep banks, it is very sheltered from the elements.
The temperature will be in the low teens so a singlet or dry fit top on its own is probably best.
