There was a small crowd of 99 runners for this years Dromahane Community Park 5 mile on Sat 26th Aug 2017. As you can see from the chart above, the numbers are down 16% this year following several years of growth.

Notice...Dromahane 5k run nr Mallow - Sat 8th Apr 2017

The annual Dromahane 5km race is coming on Saturday the 8th of April 2017 with a 6pm start. This race is slightly different from the norm in that it's a point to point 5k as opposed to a loop. Runners are taken by bus to the start line in Glantane 5kms away and they run back to Dromahane.

Dromahane Roadrunners are delighted to announce our 3nd annual 5K timed race from Glantane to Dromahane in aid of Dromahane Community park and Dromahane N.S.

Registration - Friday 7th Apr 19:30 to 21:30 Hickey's Bar, Dromahane.
                      - Saturday 16:00 to 17:30 Community Hall, Dromahane.

Entry....  €10 per person (over 16s only).

Prizes for 1st ,2nd & 3rd Men and Women €60 €40 €20 and also a prize of €50 for Men and Women for breaking the course record. The men's record is held by Tim O'Connor of An Ríocht AC and stands at 15:52. The Women's record is held by Carol Finn of Leevale and stands at 18:47.

Shuttle buses from Community Hall in Dromahane to the start in Glantane - with ample seating.

Refreshments after the race in Dromahane community hall.

Dromahane is just a few kms to the south-west of Mallow town and is easy to access from the N20 Cork-Limerick road.

A record 118 runners turned out for this years Dromahane 5 mile race near Mallow on Saturday the 13th of August 2016. That represents a jump of 24% on last years numbers. Proceeds from this event went towards the development of a local community park.

Notice...Dromahane 5 mile race & walk - Sat 13th Aug 2016

The annual Dromahane 5 mile race is on this year on Saturday the 13th of August at 7:15pm.

From the organisers...Dromahane Roadrunners are delighted to announce our upcoming annual 5 mile timed race. This year we have a brand new faster & flatter route starting and finishing in Dromahane village.  All proceeds go towards the development of the Dromahane Community Park.


Sat 13th Aug @ 7:15pm Race start......Walkers start @ 6:00 pm.

The race starts at the Dromahane Community Center and finishes at the new Dromahane Community Park (see map & elevation).

Registration - Friday 12 th at 19:30 to 21:30 Hickey's Bar Dromahane.
                      - Saturday 16:00 onwards in Community Hall Dromahane.

€10 per person (over 16s only) for runners.
€10 per person (children free) for walkers.

Prizes for 1st, 2nd & 3rd Men and Women

Refreshments after the race in Dromahane community hall.

The village of Dromahane is to the south-west of Mallow and only a few miles from the N20 Cork-Limerick road.

In nearly all races, the first person home is usually a man. Martina Kiely of St.Finbarr's AC won this hilly 5 mile run in Dromahane outright with a time of 30m 58s.

A total of 95 people took part, up 17% from last year.
