Notice...Carraig na bhFear 5km road race - Wed 9th Aug 2017

This 5km road race in Carraig na bhFear is coming up on Wednesday the 9th of August 2017 at 7:30pm.

The race is organised with the assistance of Carraig na bhFear AC and results will be published after the race.

From the organisers.... Carraig na bhFear GAA are hosting a fundraising 5k run in Carraig na bhFear on Wed 9th August at 7:30pm. Admission is €10 and a Family of 4 for €30. Registration begins at 6:30pm at the Primary School on the night. You can run, walk or crawl around the course as you please and it promises to be a great night of fun and chat. Tea, Coffee and refreshments will be available for all afterwards in the school.

Carraig na bhFear is just 10kms to the north of Cork City so this one should be of interest to a lot of runners.

There were 245 finishers in this years Carraig na bhFear GAA 5km road race on Wed 10th June 2016. That represents a jump of 29% on the 190 that turned out in 2015.

Results of the East Cork Senior Cross Country Championships...Sun 16th Nov 2014

The East Cork Senior and juvenile uneven age XC Championships took place today in Ballinahina and were hosted by Carraig na bhFear AC.  In the senior mens team competition Carraig na bhFear AC finished 1st, Midleton AC 2nd and Youghal AC 3rd.  Frank Hayes of East Cork was the first man, followed by his teammate John Hennessy then Willie Walsh of Carraig na bhFear 3rd

The senior womens race was won by Fiona Santry of East Cork, Ruth Mellerick Youghal was 2nd and Emma Leahy of East Cork was 3rd.  The team prizes went to East Cork 1st, Carraig na bhFear 2nd and Youghal 3rd.

Carraig na bhFear won the overall competition for best boys XC club and also won the overall girls competition.
