Just regarding your general commentary about races being below or at pre pandemic numbers. Could you please make reference to pre pandemic entry fees for races too? It's very off putting now to see 5k or 5 mile races for €15 or even more with additional charges such as booking fees, one day licences for some people etc. Races are becoming prohibitedly participative and too expensive for me. Not sure if that represents the general running community? BHAA races cost the same as pre pandemic. The crowds at those generally reflect this. Parkruns are really well organised and are where I think people should vote with their running feet.

I can see where the above poster is coming from but.... It was available for 12 euro pre entry, chip timing etc and costs associated with running an event. Large amount of food after, 2 category prizes for all ages. 1-3 men/Women cash prizes. 300 euro for the winning team. I'm sure this was also St Catherine's main event fundraising, a large club with a thriving Juvenile section. Clubs seem to support each other's events. Not fair to compare BHAA events to events like this, Large company's put these events on hence costs can be kept down. I thoroughly enjoyed watching the race at the finish last night, good quality running with a good field. The Juvenile race beforehand was well done, it was a good excuse to take the family.Well done St Catherine's again.

The point that large multinational companies subsidies the BHAA seems to be forgotten so easy for them to change
a fiver then. Business Houses Atheltic Association.

The comment 're the BHAA races is interesting. As someone who is on an organising committee I can tell u these are not cheap to run. The BHAA load all the additional costs into the organisers but this will have to change, expect a rise in BHAA entry fees next year.

Can you please clarify the above comment re "load all the additional costs into the organisers"? Who is bearing that cost? Surely BHAA can pass on the increased running costs to the multinationals and maintain the low entry fees?
