There is a lack of 5 mile races in Cork these days.
Its great to see some clubs going for the 5 mile option rather then the usual 5k option.
This race had everything a good 5 miler needs. Great route. Plenty of tough bits to test yourself and a good last mile. Reminds me a bit of the Ballyandreen 5.
Cost of the race was 10euro and had prizes in all categories.
Great local support around the course.
Chipped timed and accurate course.
Lovely atmosphere back at the community centre.
Plenty of parking.
Good warm up and cool down areas.
All in all this is a great event. This event will surely grow once people hear more about it.
More clubs need to think of 5 milers rather then 5k’s and not all races have to be super fast.
This is a testing course but makes you feel like you deserve your the time you run.
Thanks Churchtown road runners.

We are delighted to hear you enjoyed our race. As a committee we've consciously decided to have a cheaper entry free of 10e rather than present medals or t-shirts.

First time to run the course last Friday. Very well organised and stewarded. Great parking and good warm up facilities. Registration was simple and easy. Race went off on time and it's a tough course especially mile 4. Most importantly, got coffee and loads of tea rack and we were done and dusted with the prize giving 40 minutes later. Well done to all involved. Will be back especially if you take a D9 dozer to that hill in mile 4 for next year!@

While on vacation in Ireland I was quite pleased to take part in the Churchtown 5-Miler. I found the race well organized and everyone was very friendly and made me feel welcome. I liked how challenging the course was. I will always have great memories of my race. Thanks! -Jarrow Wahman
