Notice : West Muskerry 5k & 10k Trail Races - Sun 25th Aug 2019

 This new event to the north of Macroom is coming up on Sunday the 25th of August 2019...

From the organisers...Races organised by West Muskerry A.C. All proceeds to the club. Our aim is to provide great value races in a beautiful place. Family friendly with a free kids race.

5K Trail Race: fast flat course on forest trail, entirely in scenic Millstreet Country Park

10K Trail Race: challenging course with 300m of ascent and descent through a variety of terrain in Millstreet Country Park.


1.5k Kids race taking place after the 5k Race.

Start times & entry prices
11:30am for 5k, entry price only €10*
13:00 for 10k, entry price only €10*
12:30 1.5k kids race (FREE)
*excl. online booking fee. Entry fee for both 5k and 10k together is €15.00.



Fully marked courses on established trails in park, road shoes would be fine

Walkers welcome
Post Race refreshments in the park centre afterwards.

Directions...See below...



All of the races are held in trails in Millstreet Country Park which is to the north of Macroom...


From the western side of Macroom, it is 13.8 kms to the Millstreet Country Park. It's 7.4 kms to a signposted crossroads where you turn left and then a further 6.4 kms to the Park.


If you are not familiar with Macroom then drive trough the town, past the entrance to Macroom Castle, down and over the bridge on the western side of the town and then right.


If you know of the Mill Road which goes around to the north of the town then take that.

Either way, you'll come out at the point shown below. Proceed up the hill. The Park is 13.8 kms from here.


This is the crossroads at 7.4 kms from Macroom. The Brown signpost of the Millstreet Country Park shows the way to the left.


From here, just keep going straight and the entrance to the Millstreet Country Park is at the top of the hill.
