Many Runners each week in Ballincollig Parkrun - Any Stats for how many of these Volunteer accordingly with Parkrun Guidelines?
What do you mean exactly ?
Thanks for the opportunity to explain:- The Meaning is that 1 turn volunteering for each 5 times participating is the successful formula for Parkruns - there are Parkruns around the Country finding it hard to continue because they are under pressure as people continue participating without volunteering
We are lucky in Ballincollig to get at least 20 volunteers each week. Currently there are 3900 who have registered Ballincollig as their home run but just over 200 have opted in to receive emails. This means we have a small pool of people who receive our weekly requests to volunteer. We would love if everyone volunteered once for every five runs but it goes against the parkrun ethos to pressure people to volunteer. However, without the volunteers the parkrun wouldn't exist.
Giving back to fellow runners by volunteering at Parkrun is something that having done it opens up the whole Parkrunning Experience into a more wholesome appreciation
