great event as always.
I know Ballycotton is the blue ribbon 10 miler - what Ballycotton achieve every year is fantastic when you consider facilities and location.
Dungarvan have the luxury of a super route, amazing local support and huge club numbers. They really maximise this and put on what I believe is an event to rival the great Ballycotton.
Well done to West Waterford AC.
Ran yesterday for the first time. Great course well organised and nice t-shirts at the finish. Well done to all at West Waterford AC
also a first timer for Dungarvan and it was very well run ...great t-shirt and goody bag all for 15euro..The top can be used for training (unlike the cork to cobh one..
exceptional scenic route, better than ballycotton and the top is brilliant, lets face it you can't wear a mug while running............. this event will surpass ballycotton
well ran, organised, professionally executed... well done guys....
1st time runner myself. Great scenic, fast route for a PB. Good atmosphere and great T-Shirt. All for €20 so can't complain. Only issue I would have was with the timing chips. Not much point in wearing them the whole way around if they are only checked at the end...
Timing Chips...I think you'll find that it's pretty normal that they are only checked at the end.
Because the start is so wide, there is no real delay in getting over the start line...i.e. time starts with the gun.
At the finish, the chip enables the organisers to generate accurate results instantly. It's certinly a lot faster and more accurate than the non chip way of doing things.
A very well organised race and a lovely course. Have not run many 10 mile races in recent years but liked Dungarvan very much :-)
