Notice…Heart of Allihies 5 Mile Run – Sun 18th June 2017

This 5 mile road race is coming up in the village of Allihies on the Beara Peninsula on Sunday the 18th of June 2017. In terms of location, it must be one of the most scenic spots in the county.

Not so long ago there were no races on the Beara Peninsula. Now, there are 3 really spectacular ones...Bere Island, Eyeries and now Allihies.

The village of Allihies with its multi-coloured houses is located in one of the most scenic parts of the country and for anyone traveling some distance, this would be an excellent excuse for a weekend away.

I THINK IT'S WORTH A TRY HAVING IT ON A SUNDAY AS IT MAY GET GET MORE LOCAL PEOPLE OUT . ALSO SELF- CATERING IN IRELAND USUALLY GOES FROM SATURDAY TO SATURDAY, HAVING THE RACE ON A SUNDAY GIVES ANYONE ON HOLIDAY ON THE PENINSULA THE CHANCE TO TAKE PART ON THE DAY. SO OVER ALL LETS GIVE IT A GO.
