Cork City Marathon Shirts for 2011...

These are the tops for the Marathon runners for 2011 and it looks as if they are decent tech tops. Who can forget the ones we got back in 2009........I still have mine stuffed away somewhere......never worn.

For 2011, the Marathon are UnderArmour high-tech tops.....Red with a grey stripe for men.......Yellow for women.
The Half-Marathon tops are red with a navy stripe.

For the Relay, they are cotton t-shirts.........colour....white with a red wrap.

Why is a Gaa player used to promote the cork marathon?

Because he works in Bord Gais, and they like to use him and 1 or 2 other footballers that work there for any promotional photos

I didn't recognise him, I have to admit. Who is it?

2009 tees looked crappy for sure, but last year's heavyweight tech tees weren't much use either. 2011's definitely look the job.

I actually, very briefly, got my hands on two marathon tops today. They look good. I was also told that they are a new material, made from fully recycled plastic bottles!

...Anyway, I wouldn't mind having one!

Ran the relay year 1, got an okay'ish' white cotton shirt. Ran the full for the last 3 years and the tops have been,
'08 Rank
'09 Pitiful
'10 Improving.(Wore it to the All-Ireland, too heavy for running)
You don't run the Cork marathon for the top thats for sure, this year looks promising!
Lets keep hope alive!!

Bit disappointing the relay runners still only get the cotton shirt. I know some might argue that the full/half marathon are longer and harder on runners but I argue that, for some, the relay is JUST as big an event and achievement. All shirts should be the same regardless of distance run. At the end of the day, we have all worked and trained hard to get to race day and do our best.

Was it a red t shirt with blue on the sides that everyone got for the half marathon? I was just wondering as i thought they were suposed to be navy. Its a pity the year is not printed on them like the full marathon.

I thought the support from the public and stewards around the course on Monday was phenomenal - I was hugely impressed. A big thank you to them all, particularly those who stayed on late through the rain. They were instrumental in helping me to get over the line. KM
