Alan O'Brien...First Cork man home in the 2018 Cork City Marathon

One of the most notable performances in the 2018 Cork City Marathon was that of Alan O'Brien of Eagle AC who was the first Cork man home. Alan finished in 4th place overall in a time of 2h 26m 52s and was the first M35 home.

Alan also ran a new personal best time for the distance beating his previous best of 2h 28m 46s set on the much flatter Berlin Marathon course in September of 2017.

In a post race interview, Barry Drake of CRY104 caught up with Alan and spoke to him about the race. The audio piece also has clips from Mick Dooley of the BHAA who was involved in the organising of the event, Claire McCarthy, the winner of the Half-Marathon and several others.
