The annual Sonia O'Sullivan Cobh 10-mile road race was held this year on Sunday 12th of April 2026. The conditions were pretty good as it was cool with some sunshine, a marked difference from all of the showers the previous day.
The first woman home was Lily Partridge from the UK who made it two in a row after winning the 2025 race as well.

As the chart shows, it was also a record year as it broke through the 1000 mark for the first time.
What's interesting about this is that Cobh is known for being a hilly course, they even have the motto 'It's hilly, get over it'. It suggests that having a 'flat fast course' is not the be all and end all. The proximity to Cork City, the buzz, the location, the atmosphere and sense of occasion are all factors as well.
