Results of the 5k parkruns around the county on Saturday 13th April 2024. Approximately 873 runners and walkers took part in the 10 events in Co Cork.
Report... After Storm Kathleen last week and the mass cancellations, the weather was a lot kinder this Saturday for the 5k parkruns in Co Cork. It was also one of the mildest Saturday so far this year with the thermometer at Cork Airport hitting 12 degrees at 9:30am this morning.
Tramore Valley hits 100... The 5k parkrun in Tramore Valley Park celebrated its 100th outing today!
This parkrun actually started way back on the 26th of September 2015 and it was hugely popular. There were 15 events before Cork City Council pulled the plug due to parking and access issues. After a long wait, it finally restarted on the 16th of July 2022 and they haven't looked back since.
If I missed anyone who passed a notable milestone like 100, 200, 250 or above parkruns then let me know.
