Cork Simon Community Charity looking for unwanted running shoes
"Please donate your unwanted running shoes to support Cork Simon Community....If you have any unwanted running shoes you can donate these to Cork Simon Community, to help support people who are homeless in Cork this winter. Cork Simon would be delighted to take any donations of shoes, however they shouldn't have any holes / damage and be clean. So if you can see your toe sticking out the top then that's a no-no!
For anyone who does a lot of running, you will know that after a while shoes loose their 'bounce' and they should be replaced. By the time that happens the shoes overall can still be in pretty good shape...i.e. not good enough for running but perfectly fine for walking. There is a collection point in John Buckley Sports. The shops is located just across the river from Cork Opera House...."
Thanks to Ruairi O'Mahony for the above info.
