The Cork City Sports are coming up at the CIT track in Bishopstown on Tuesday evening the 8th of July 2014. For anyone with even a slight interest in athletics, this is worth going to watch as it's the only time of the year that you have such a quality field assembled locally for an athletics meeting.
As well as there being a number of international athletes, some of the best talent locally and in Ireland will also be competing.
Just some of the top Irish athletes to watch are...
1) Thomas Barr from Ferrybank AC in Waterford in the mens 400m hurdles...he literally flying at the moment
2) Phil Healy of Bandon AC in the womens 100m....one of the rising stars in sprinting
3) Sarah Lavin from Limerick in the womens 100m hurldes.....now that Derval O'Rourke has retired, Sarah is probably the fastest hurdler in the country
4) Laura Crowe in the womens 800m.....how close to 2 minutes will they get?
5) The mens mile.......is a sub 4 minute mile on the cards?
...plus plenty more.
