At the moment, there is a group looking at putting on a new Junior parkrun in Midleton in east Cork and this will be the ninth Junior parkrun in the county. As with all Junior parkruns, it's 2kms in length, it's for 4-14 year olds, it's free and it's on every Sunday at 9:30am.
Looking at the stats from a previous post, any Junior parkrun that is co-sited with a 5k parkrun seems to do very well. Considering the population of Midleton, this new event should get something like 60-80 participants per week?
As for a course, I understand that it is likely to be on the Greenway and use the same start/finish area as the 5k parkrun. The 5k heads east for 2.5kms before turning around a cone. The Junior event will be similar except it's 1km out and then back 1km.
