Irish results from the 2021 Berlin Marathon - Sun 26th Sept 2021

There was a large contingent of runners from Ireland in Germany last weekend for the Berlin Marathon with a good few from Cork as well... shown below in Red.

In the Women's race, Grace Lynch from Caherciveen in Co. Kerry ran an impressive time of 2h 40m for her debut marathon. Not so long ago, that would have been a qualifying time for the Olympics.

In the men's race, David Mansfield of Clonmel AC posted a fine time of just under 2 hours 20 minutes.

Irish results from the 2019 Chicago Marathon

As per usual, there was a big contingent of runners from Ireland at the 2019 Chicago Marathon.

The Irish women faster than 3h 45m and the Irish men faster than 3h 45m are shown below. You may have to click on the images to enlarge them.

As outlined in a previous post, Fionnuala McCormack from Wicklow ran a time of 2h 26m and was 10 minutes ahead of the first Irish man!

There are no clubs listed so it's kind of hard to see where everyone is from. Have a look and see if you recognise anyone.

Irish results from the 2019 Barcelona Half-Marathon - Sun 10th Feb 2019

The annual Barcelona Half-Marathon in February is a hugely popular race with runners from all over Ireland taking part every year. 2019 was no exception with 255 Irish runners listed in the results.

A total of 16,418 runners from all over Europe took part, many no doubt looking for a welcome break from the cold weather to run in nice mild conditions. Add in the modest costs of flights, food and accommodation and it can work out as a reasonable alternative to say Dublin or one of the cities in the UK.

The annual Chicago Marathon was held on the 8th of October 2017 and there was no shortage of Irish runners there.

Irish results at the 2017 London Marathon

The annual London Marathon was held on Sunday the 23rd of April 2017 and over 39,000 people completed the 26.2 mile course. There were about 350 Irish runners listed in the results.
