This 5k race in Macroom was held in overcast but dry conditions, a big change from the wet misty weather in the east of the county.
The full results will probably take a few days to appear but in the meantime, here are some photos from Doug Minihane

A big thank you who took part in the run and helped out last night. We had a massive turnout with over 900 participants registered. Looking forward to next years run. Thanks again, the kingston family.
This race is a Fun Run and nothing else.Look at the age of the child in the photo as well as buggies, dogs etc.Lets call a spade a spade it is a Fun Run no matter how good the cause. It seems to be all about numbers and forget safety.Kids this age are not in any way insured to run.
fair play to comment No 2, at last someone has the guts to speak up, children as young as 6 crazy, just wait till someone falls and gets injured, then the Insurance boys will get their claws in, a couple of hundred thousand will be paid out, then we will see how many road races will be promoted, it is time the AAI and the BHAA enforced the over 16 rule, at the moment eveything points to an accident waiting to happen.
Ran this. Just wondering what regular runners' thoughts / feedback are on the general 8 p.m. start time of most mid-week races including the Cork BHAA ? I think it is too late especially if you don't live near the race location & you want to stay for a cuppa after etc. I would like to see races start not later than 7, so you could return home at a normal hour!
Regarding comment 4: I like to get to a race about an hour before it starts so I can park easily, register and relax for awhile before I start my warmup. As such 8pm is better for me as if I finish work at 5.30 or 6pm and have an hour drive to the race I am guaranteed not to be rushing. I think that if races started at 7pm the turnout would be a lot lower as people would not be able to make it on time.
I believe a 7.30/8pm start time for mid week races is ideal. As comment 5 said people do not finish work till 5.30pm and with traffic etc in the city it can take time arriving to races. On another note I find it very disappointing that the full results have not been issued at this stage - 6 days after the event.
