I came across this piece in the Telegraph newspaper. It refers to a study done that suggests that if you live in a very warm enviroment then you may put on more fat. The basic idea is that the temperature in your house is reduced, your body burns up more energy to try and compensate and stay warm.
According to the study...."The body starts to heat itself if it drops below the "thermoneutral zone" which is around 25 deg C.
A four degree centigrade rise in temperature reduces the amount of energy used to heat the body by as much as 800 calories."
