Some photos of the Very Pink Run in Cork - Sun 7th Sept 2025

The Very Pink Run charity run was held at MTU in Cork on Sunday 7th September 2025 with a 5k and 10k on offer. I'm not sure that the numbers were but it certainly seemed to be in the thousands.

There were no times for this event as the proceeds went to Breast Cancer Ireland.

From their website... "Of the entry fee – how much goes to Breast Cancer Ireland?

The event costs associated with this event are covered through the generosity of our many sponsors, so entry fee income and sponsorship funds raised, go to support our ongoing research and awareness efforts."

I took about 260 photos around 1pm...

Photos of the Very Pink Run in Cork - Sun 8th Sept 2024

This charity 5k & 10k was held in MTU on the western suburbs of Cork City on Sunday 8th Sept 2024. Proceeds from the event went to the Breast Cancer Ireland charity.

The day itself was overcast and dry and there seemed to be well over 1000 taking part. The event wasn't timed but I have a lot of photos up on the Running in Cork Facebook page.

Photos of the Breast Cancer Ireland Very Pink Run in Cork - Sun 8th Oct 2023

There seemed to be a big turnout for the Very Pink Run event in Bishopstown in Cork City with somewhere in the region of a 1000+ runners and walkers completing the 5k and 10k events. The 5k course was the one used for the Rebel Run 5k with the 10k participants completing two loops.

It's hard to know for sure how many took part as the event wasn't timed and all of the proceeds instead went to Breast Cancer Ireland.

Notice: Very Pink Run in Bishopstown - Sun 8th Oct 2023

Breast Cancer Ireland are holding their Very Pink Run this year at MTU in Bishopstown on Sunday 8th October 2023.

There is a choice of 5k and 10k distances, the run starts at 12-noon and the entry fee is €31 for adults. All proceeds go to this charity.

The runs are not timed but they seem to be using the same accurate courses as the Rebel Run so participants can time themselves.

From the organisers... "Our goal at Breast Cancer Ireland is, through research, to transform breast cancer, from often being a fatal disease, to a chronic illness that can be maintained long term through treatment. Help us speed up discovery times to affect a more positive outcome for patients.

Since 2011, the Very Pink Run has raised in excess of €6 million, to support our ongoing research and education programmes nationally

The Very Pink Run offers the opportunity for men women and children to participate in a fun filled morning of a pinktastic showcase with music, face painters and fun for all the family. We have a 5k fun run, jog, walk or wheel and a 10K Challenge – there is something for everyone

Please note there is no chip timing for this event and t-shirts are on a first come first served basis "
