Update on the 5k parkrun in the Glen Park in Cork City

Back at the end of May 2018, I had a post up about the proposed new weekly 5k parkrun in the Glen in Cork City.

So far, a small team of about 10-11 people have expressed an interest in helping to get it up and running.

Cork Local Sports Partnership have organised a meeting at the Glen Resource Centre at 6:30pm on Wednesday June 27th 2018.

If you want to help out or even to find out more about it then try to attend this meeting.

New 5k parkrun proposed for the north side of Cork City...

Moves are now underway to try and establish a new 5km parkrun in the Glen in the north side of Cork City. The City Council have expressed an interest in supporting it and volunteers are now being sought.

If you would like to be part of a core group that will help get this weekly 5km parkrun up and running and then supporting it on n ongoing basis then send an email to John Kissane... john DOT kissane AT parkrun DOT com

What usually happens is that a rota is set up and people help out on a regular basis. It's not like you'll be committing yourself to be there every Saturday morning. Some weeks you might run, some weeks you'll volunteer.

No start date has been set but it will be on Saturdays at 9:30am just like all the rest.
