Sinead Diver from Co.Mayo is one of the top Irish female marathon runners with times like 2h 34m for the marathon, 69m 20s for the half and 31m 30s for the 10k.
The remarkable thing about Sinead is that she didn't start running seriously until she was 33!
Now living in Melbourne, she competes on the international stage for her adopted country.
Sonia O'Sullivan has an interesting article on Sinead in the Irish Times.
"To me the basic benchmark for elite women is 70 minutes for the half-marathon, and two hours and 30 minutes for the full marathon. These are the standards we need to be looking at to stand any chance of being competitive in any international road race, especially the Olympics, World Championships and European Championships." ....Sonia O'Sullivan
