Unfortunately, all of the rain got the better of this weeks 5k parkrun in Ballincollig Regional Park. The heavy rain last Wednesday waterlogged the ground and the 14 hours of rain on Friday then had no place to go.
Here is a message from the organisers..."Results are not available for the Ballincollig parkrun as we had to cancel the event due to severe flooding on one section of the course. We would like to thank everyone for their understanding with our decision to cancel due to health and safety reasons. We would especially like to thank the many volunteers who were present from 8.30-10 am as they prepared for the event and then remained on as many people ran alternative routes. It is our understanding that the Operation Transformation walk scheduled to take place at the CIT was also cancelled due to flooding. We hope to see everyone out in force next week.
Kind regards...Maretta Brennan (Event Director)"
