Results & photos of the Cork City 10 Miler...Sun 13th Sept 2015

The 2015 John Buckley Sports Cork City 10 Miler was held on Sunday the 13th of Sept in very wet conditions. It was hammering down at 8am, by 9am the sun made an appearance but after 10am, the rain came back with a vengeance. Running a short race in those conditions is tough but 10 miles is even more so.

Many thanks to the very encouraging stewards en route. Hard to be running today but even worse to be standing around!

Can't believe how many stewards St Finbarrs had out today is such awful conditions. Well done to a great club and to all who finished!

Fantastic support from the pacemakers also. Well done especially to the 70min pacemakers who brought us all home with plenty encouragement and enthusiasm.

Great race organised by St Finbarrs on what was a challenging day for everyone involved. This makes the race's success all the more impressive. Super effort all round, I'll definitely be back next year.

A well organized race. Well done to all the great stewards along the route they kept me going through some tough periods on route. The weather was crap but everyone seem to take it in their strides. Just wondering how many actually registered as against how many finished. So well done still wringing the water out of my gear lol. As it was my first 10 miler I am very encouraged to do it again next year. I finished it in one piece tired but extremely delighted with my results for my 1st time. Great food afterwards too.

Great fast route. Shame day was so bad, lots of surface water especially on approach to finish, but still posted a PB so have to be happy.

I like the free top too.

Great race as always from St. Finbarrs, pity about the conditions. Thanks so much to all the stewards etc for all their efforts on a very wet day, it is no fun to be standing about in the rain. On a very positive note, my daughter has already stolen the dry-fit top as the date on the front is Niall Horans birthday. Will it become a collectors item!!

Well done on a well organised race with great stewarding along the route. 80 minute pacers did a good job, thanks. Good feed afterwards so thanks also to all the volunteers who organised this

Fair play to all in such testing conditions. Organisers were on the ball but weather left them down. It is a great 10ml and I will be back if my shoes ever dry out..!! Well done StFinbarrs

Fantastic display by the Barrs in one of the worst racing conditions for some time, stewarding and out the course support A1, friendly club atmosphere, catering, prize list and of course the DRY FIT TOP which no doubt will become a collectors item, again congratulations to the club.

Well done for a great race & a huge thanks to all supporters especially the lady at Mile 3 who gave everyone an individual cheer. It meant a lot in such terrible conditions

I want to echo the comments above. Lads great job, stewarding, the food, and I would also like to compliment the lady on mile three... she was brill. Pity about the weather, it was horrible out there but everyone was encouraging as we were all literally in the same boat...

Agree with all the above. A very well organised event. Well done to all involved. The cakes post race made the rain seem not so bad!

A big thanks to St Finbarr's for organising a superb race in very trying conditions. The stewards out on the course were a credit and the spread afterwards was also superb. I also think the technical t-shirt is class and fits very nicely.

Repeating a lot that has been said already but in fairness all the praise is well deserved!
Well done and thanks to everyone involved. The support was great and shout out to the 80 min pacers, I didn't think I would be able to set a PB in those conditions but in fairness ye lead me to mile 8 and was able to pick it up from there. Good run and thanks again.
