Some sent me a message today with this question..."Hi My daughter is very keen on running, loves it ,at just 4 years of age is there any club that will let her maybe run with juveniles,We live in Ballincollig, "
I looked up a document on the Athletics Ireland website and they gave this guideline for competitions...."7. Juvenile Athletes 9 -19 years, No athlete may obtain a birthday in the year of competition
and compete in that age. "
Perhaps someone in a local club could advise as to what is usually the youngest age for juveniles? At what age do clubs start training? I'm sure some parents would be interested to hear what the usual ages are.

Some clubs have a Little Athletics programme for kids aged 5-9. Its non competing and involves games and running challenges. Go to the list of clubs on the corkathletics site and you should get a contact number
Peter, if you can mail then I'll put you in contact with someone who can give you some detailed advice.
