Back in late 2011, I had a post up about how running too many Marathons make up damaging your heart.
In this video clip from Dr.James O'Keeffe at a TED conference, he gives a talk which again says that too much exercise is bad for you. In it, he says....
1. The maximum benefit of vigorous is gained at roughly 40 minutes. After that, there is a plateau effect.
2. By contrast, light exercise is a straight line graph....the more you do, the better.
3. He recommends 10 to 15 miles a week max.
By the way, he is NOT saying exercise is bad for you! The worst thing you can do is to do nothing.
Just exercise in moderation.
