Last week, I had two competitions up for free entries to the Run Killarney Half-Marathon coming up on the 14th of July.
On the Running in Cork Facebook page, the competition was to guess what the winning time for the first woman in the Courtmacsherry 10k might be? On the night, Lizzie Lee of Leevale AC won in a course record time of 35:25. Paul Lenihan had guessed 35:21 which was just 4 seconds away. Paul has now a free entry to the Run Killarney Half-Marathon....(Paul, you might send me an e-mail asap to claim your entry)
On the Running in Munster Facebook page, the competition was to guess the winning time for the first woman in the Kilfinane 5 mile road race which is part of the ongoing Ballyhoura Active Series. The womens race was won by Caroline Conway in a time of 33:34. Nobody had a guess anywhere close but Shane Mullaney had guessed 31:03 and he was the closest....even though he was 2m 31s out! Shane had won an earlier competition a few months back for a SKINS top on the Running in Cork Facebook page and so he's on a bit of a roll at the moment ;o) . Shane now wins a free entry to the Run Killarney Half-Marathon.
Welcome to the Running in Cork blog, home of the Cork running community. This is the largest website in Cork & Munster for news on road races and general running news. Included are a current race calendar, race previews, photos, results as well as some local, national and international news items.
