The Charleville Half-Marathon is coming up on Sunday, the 18th of September with a 10am start. It also includes a relay event.

Noreen Buckley (North Cork AC), Brendan Comerford (Charleville Park Hotel), Eugene McCarthy (St. Josephs Foundation), Michael Herlihy (Race director) and James Foley (Cavanaghs of Charleville) at the launch of the Cavanaghs Charleville Half-Marathon

The race director for the race is Michael Herlihy of North Cork AC and Ballyhoura Fáilte, a former winner of the Cork City Marathon. This is new race on the calendar and has it's roots in the Charleville 10 mile race of the early 90's and the Dromina 10 mile race of the early 80's, both big races in their day. Next week, I'll have a look back at some of these old races that attracted runners from all over Ireland.
A full press release with details about the launch can be seen HERE
Details about how to enter with more details can be seen in this earlier post.
