A well run event, really enjoyable evening. Pity Cork BHAA can't run their events with the same professionalism as Ballycotton Running Promotions. The speed at which the results were up online should put the BHAA to shame. Thanks again to all involed.

My second time competing in a 5K and a wonderful experience! Superbly organised from start to finish, and a great route, with miles 1,2 & 3 clearly marked... loved that! Looking forward to next years already! Thanks to all the volunteers for the post-run refreshments... delish!

Dont want to put a damper on what was really a great and well organised night but there was a man running with a dog on a lead.As a runner who has been bitten by a dog I found this really scary and it ruined my run.Why was this allowed?

Hi John,The above comment is completley out of order and is a huge insult to the Cork Bhaa who are a remarkable organisation and have given and continue to give us top class events, and just because results are not ready within a few hours or so after the event does not warrant a a comment like that one above.i'm really disgusted to read this type of trash and as much as everyone is intitled to an opinion it's does nothing for morale within the orgainsers who contribute so much to the running of these events.

Mary.....I would say in fairness to the organisers that they probably didn't know in advance that someone was going to run with their dog.

But you raise a very valid point. There are a number of people who are terrified of dogs. If someone wants to run with their dog then obvously they should do it on their own time rather than in a road race with hundreds of other people.

Hopefully the fact that you raised the issue might prevent it from happening again.

Why is John Dunphy so upset with a previous poster ?
To be honest, the delay in the BHAA results is a bit of a joke. That was the only gripe as far as I can see. Apart from that, the BHAA do a great job.

Great event last night, stewarding was excellent, and the food afterwards was great. One small issue - the vast majority of people queued up patiently to get their food, but there were a few queue jumpers (you know who you are), who 'suddenly' saw people in the queue, and just had to join them for a big 'enthusiastic' chat instead of going to the back of the queue like any normal polite person would.

Ref: John Dumphy, nobody is doubting that the BHAA put on really good races, but the slowness of registration, waiting in tunnels after the race cramping up and waiting typically over a week for results is a sore point for MANY runners ive talked to. Let's not be afriad to want the best from our race organisers without being called spoilsports

Hi John,

Just on Mary's comment about the man with the dog.
This was a slight oversight. The registers might have thought this person was walking with the dog in the walk.
We aplogize to her , this should not have been allowed.
We will rectify this next year and make sure that this does not happen again.
We hope Mary will come back and compete again.

A real big thanks to all who turned out for what was overall a very succesfull event for the local community of Carrigtwohill.

Best regards,

Marc Dalton

What a terrific evening. I thoroughly enjoyed myself. The course was lovely and the organisation second to none. Everything from the parking to the refreshments after ran without a glitch. Looking forward to next year. Didn't mind the dog too much but my gripe where the two 10 yr old girls who get dodging in and out of people and then stopping! I had to step out of the way at one pointt and nearly tripped another lady in the process!!Apologies to her!!

Very well organised & well attended event & it had a fantastic, friendly atmosphere. I am delighted at how fast the results have been posted. What a great night for €7. Really enjoyed it.

That guy with the dog came in a little before me and I didnt really mind either because the dog was on the lead and from what i gathered seemed very obedient. i can see where others are coming from but I dont really think its that major? no need for any comments on the BHAA. They put a lot of effort into the runs they organise.

Thought the race in Carrigtwohill was fantastic, one of my favourites so far this year- excellent stewarding, great organisation, quick results and fabulous food, all for €7, which was for charity- well done to all concerned.

Just one small query, why did the walk go off so early? It started at half past six,and I know of a number of people who turned up with runners who would have walked if it had gone off at, say 7.15pm? Not a big deal, many people just headed off for a stroll in their own time anyway and supported runners at the turning point of the loop, but maybe the organisers could have got a few more fivers had the walk gone off a bit later!
