Results of the Clonakilty Marathon, Half-Marathon & 10k - Sat 8th Dec 2018
Looks like they got a nice day for this years Clonakilty Marathon albeit a little windy.
Looking through the results, the numbers are just a tad down this year.
The marathon hit a new record with the highest number of finishers ever in the events history. The half-marathon was also up slightly but the drop this year was in the 10k for whatever reason.

Fabulous Half Marathon On A Wonderfully Scenic Course. It Was A Great Fresh Morning For It And Being Dry Was Certainly A Bonus. Personally It Was My Best Half Marathon All Year
ReplyDeleteTough course but great enjoyed the challenge. Well Done to all

Jeez lads, there was a fine testing wind every time we ran in a westerly direction. Big bonus that it stayed dry. Great morning in Clonakilty. Well organised.
ReplyDeletea few more toilets at start would be nice. endless queues makes it all very frantic added to the tight starting area. just a row of about 10 portaloos outside would make a massive difference. the full marathon is fantastic. i did the half 2 years ago but i found the full so much more enjoyable. the feeling of being out in the open countryside is really fab. very well sign posted and plenty of fuel stations too. the option of allowing earlier start times to some participants is very good too as it means there's people throughout the course when the main event starts.. so it never gets too lonely. highly recommended event.
