Wed 7th Nov 2018... Now 10,000 gone.
Sat 3rd Nov 2018... 7,000 gone.
It's hard to believe but 10,000 places for the 2019 Dublin City Marathon have been sold already!
The entry fees are broken down as follows... Entry fee: The first 7,000 entries are at €70, the next 7,000 are at €80 and the last 6,000 are at €90.
Amazingly, the first batch of 7,000 were snapped up by Saturday the 3rd of November, just 6 days after the 2018 event! By Wed 7th, it was at 10,000. That means there are now less than 10,000 left.
Although 12 months is a long time to plan ahead, you should probably be thinking about entering if you are interested. If nothing else, you should keep a close eye on the entries to see how things progress.

ah it's all a bit nuts really. the attraction of Dublin was that it was easy to enter it in july and august
ReplyDelete20000 entries and probably 5000 no shows, clubs should be giving allocation first.
ReplyDeleteI think the attraction of Dublin is that it is at a great time of year for marathon racing (and for summer training) and that it is an atmospheric, well supported event.
ReplyDeleteHow many of the initial entries are 'block' bookings for US etc charities?
ReplyDeleteNothing draws a crowd like a crowd! I entered the race in 2015 in September, for 2018 I had to enter it back in early summer, now I have to do it 10 months in advance. Ridiculous! Can't help but think that the dublin marathon organisers started the rush for 2019 by advertising cheap €70 entries to runners who had just done the race if they entered before November 1. There was no need to do this as the first 7,000 entries were for €70 anyway. Can't help but think there will be a big number of no shows or people selling their race numbers for the 2019 race by having people sign up nearly a year in advance. I'll say in again, ridiculous!
